Gallery 1022 is the reincarnation of a 1950's building. The design parti was to create two live/work studios that integrated interior and exterior space. The existing garage and office were stripped down to their basic structure and renovated into two studios accessed through separate courtyards. The exterior of the building was finished in concrete stucco and corrugated galvanized siding. Courtyard walls were constructed with stuccoed cmu and unfinished steel plate. Miscellaneous gates, light boxes and roof scuppers were built with unfinished steel.
